Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Starting in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. All Pella® products meet or exceed ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. How does this impact you? Not only could you see a decline in your heating and cooling charges, you will help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are each specifically designed and customized for your home, meaning no two projects are the same. Our wide range of products make it hard to discuss pricing without first understanding your needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it mutually beneficially to send out a Pella sales representative who will give you a quoted project price after seeing the project site itself. To accelerate the quoting process, your Pella® sales representative is armed with a computer and a portable printer so that they’ll have all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has had a chance to consider the requirements of the job and matches them with your vision.

In addition to offering a large assortment of high-grade products to select from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you excellent window and door products at affordable prices, offering you a chance to make the renovations you want to while building great value into your Kansas City area home as you do it.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We recommend that you should use a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mixture or use an ammonia free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. Or you can make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Put the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. Do not use glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they have a tendency to form streaks or create a film that magnetizes moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses dependable installers who are certified to install Pella windows and doors. We require them to complete a thorough set of training courses so that your windows and doors are correctly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty guidelines. We find the best Kansas City-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Prior to beginning our relationship, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your Kansas City Pella branch offers services and support that “big box” stores can’t provide. Our staff is made up of professionals whose expertise is in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and quality installers means that you will have the strength of our whole team. We frequently use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. You can easily contact your sales representative or our main office if you have any concerns and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Kansas City homeowners choose Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella was founded in 1925 and has remained privately-held the entire time. Every one of our high quality windows and doors are produced with high standards and serviced by Pella’s professional Direct Sales Network. Unlike other manufacturers who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated windows & door design centers across the United States and Canada. This unique way of doing business gives Pella clients in Kansas City a convenient and personal experience with the assistance of a local to Kansas City, Pella-certified team. Whether you are considering the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a superior quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
